De Towards eEnvironment conference is door het Tjechse EU-voorzitterschap opgezet om informatie uit te wisselen tussen overheden, EU-instellingen, milieu-agentschappen, wetenschappers en industriëlen die begaan zijn met de ontwikkeling en het gebruik van milieu-informatie ten dienste van moderne eEnvironment services in Europa.
De hoofdtopics van de conferentie omvatten
- ICT research towards the development of a Single Information Space in Europe for the Environment (SISE)
- best practices of European Member States in the implementation of the Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS) en
- cooperation and integration of GMES and INSPIRE activities.
