"Science at the Summit" seminar series, Brussel, 27-29/09/2010
Ter gelegenheid van de third South Africa - EU Summit in Brussel, een jaarlijks evenement waarbij Zuid-Afrikaanse en Europese leiders van het hoogste niveau de samenwerking onder het South Africa - EU Strategic Partnership bekijken, organiseert het South African Department of Science and Technology een seminariereeks met als titel "Science at the Summit". Wetenschap en technologie is één van de flagships van de samenwerking in het partnerschap. Met de seminaries beklemtoont men het belang van wetenschappelijk-technologische samenwerking in de relaties tussen Zuid-Afrika en de EU en viert men het succes ervan.
Vijf seminaries staan gepland :
- Marking 50 years of laser innovation and exploring opportunities for African-European partnership in laser science and technology op maandag 27 september 2010;
- Celebrating the International Year of Biodiversity and promoting South Africa's biodiversity research partnerships with Europe; en
- The Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) and the key contribution of South African - European collaboration op dinsdag 28 september 2010;
- Sport as driver for research and innovation and marking South Africa's hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup; en
- Access for European researchers to South Africa's national research facilities - the first information day of the SAccess FP7 project (www.saccess-project.eu) op woensdag 29 september 2010;
