The University of Cadiz is currently coordinating the Amica project, funded in the AAL CALL1 and now is elaborating a new proposal to be submitted by the 31th of July in the AAL programme call 3.

Abstract
The main aim of the Project is to offer a health care service that enables elderly patients suffering from diseases, especially chronic illnesses (respiratory and cardiovascular disorders) to carry on with their medical treatments while away either in their home country or overseas.
The system will comprise of a base station that could be carried by the patient himself (in case the destination hotel does not provide the service) or be set in the destination hotel. In either case one or several telemedical servers will be necessary in order to allow for communication between patients and their physicians in their home country. The system should also allow for emergency assistance while overseas.
Current partners and their roles:
‐University of Cádiz (Spain): base station and sensors
‐ Puerta del Mar University Hospital (Spain): patient’s follow‐up and disease management
‐Carlos III University (Spain)): Language Technology applied to biomedical and health
documents
‐MSC (Microsystems Computers, Spain): Ad‐hoc hardware design
-Global Security Intelligence (U.K): Trials and/or Business Exploitation (to be confirmed)
